Choosing the perfect sign
Measure the wall, match the mood, pick a size that reads from across the room — not just on your phone.
Start with the wall, not the thumbnail
Your phone lies. A 12" sign that looks huge in a product photo can vanish on an 8-foot garage wall. Measure width and height of the clear space — then pick a print that fills about 50–70% of that span for a confident look.
Quick size intuition
Use these as starting points, not laws:
- Accent / shelf: ~8–12" — doors, stalls, tight hallways
- Statement: ~18–24" — above a workbench, bar back, entry
- Hero: 30"+ — fence panels, shop exteriors, big blank drywall
Match the mood
Bold typography and high contrast read from farther away. Detailed illustrations need closer viewing — hang them where people pause, not where they rush past.
Outdoors? Favor simpler compositions and check the product notes for weather-ready guidance. Shade beats full southern blast every time.
One rule that saves returns
If you’re between two sizes, go larger. Metal that feels slightly bold in the box usually looks perfect once it’s on the wall with real perspective.
